IIT Madras Researchers developing Data-Driven Strategies to enhance Road Safety in Tamil Nadu

CHENNAI , : Indian Institute of Technology Madras Researchers are developing data-driven strategies to enhance road Safety in Tamil Nadu. Towards this, a one-day workshop on developing an action plan was organized today (12) by Center of Excellence for Human Factors and Safety Science @ RBG Labs, IIT Madras, in coordination with the National Health Mission. Various stakeholders involved in road safety include the Police, Health, Transport, Road owning agencies, Education, Rural Development, and Local Self Government, among others, participated in the workshop held at IIT Madras Research Park. The outcomes of this workshop will be used to help a focused action plan and be used as a policy advisory to help reduce road accidents and fatalities in Tamil Nadu. The Green Acres Academy opens admissions for its award-winning schools in Mulund and Chembur in Mumbai

IDFC FIRST Bank and Banyan Academy of Leadership in Mental Health Launch The Centre for Trauma Studies and Innovation

Delhi, IDFC FIRST Bank  today announced the launch of India’s first Centre for  Trauma Studies and Innovation (CTSI) , in association with Banyan Academy of Leadership in Mental Health (BALM). The initiative, that was launched on World Mental Health Day, aims to address the need to look at mental health from a trauma lens, besides also creating awareness about mental wellbeing. Through this initiative, the Centre for Trauma will create curriculums and facilitate trauma-related courses for healthcare professionals at both urban and grassroot levels.   Despite trauma being a significant public health concern, leading to ill-health and mortality, there is a dearth of designated units to deal with issues related to it. U.S. Department of Education to Establish an Enforcement Office Within Federal Student Aid

Office will vigorously investigate and bring actions against schools that cheat students and taxpayers Source -  U.S. Department of Education Today, the U.S. Department of Education announced the establishment of an Office of Enforcement within Federal Student Aid, reporting directly to the chief operating officer. The Office of Enforcement will strengthen oversight of and enforcement actions against postsecondary schools that participate in the federal student loan, grant, and work-study programs. Today's action restores an office that was first established in 2016, but deprioritized in the previous administration. "Vigorously ensuring that schools are adhering to the federal student aid program rules and delivering quality education to students is critical in America's ability to build back better," said Under Secretary James Kvaal. Government of Uttar Pradesh ropes Wheebox to transform and digitize examination process for Board of Technical Education

Uttar Pradesh : With the increasing role of technology in examinations during the pandemic, Government of Uttar Pradesh conducted online exams as a viable alternative to technical education institutes. Government of Uttar Pradesh has roped Wheebox, a Cloud-based Global Assessment Platform to digitize its entire examination process. A total of over 200 thousand students took exams from Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), formerly Uttar Pradesh Technical University and approximately 300 thousand students appeared from The Board of Technical Education Uttar Pradesh (BTE) for the online exams. These AI-enabled remote proctored exams offered robustness, scalability, seamlessness, and anti-cheating prowess.  It also ensured credible and secured exams.
